A3 menus give you room for a full food and drinks range, clear pricing and promotions without squeezing the layout into a smaller format. At 297 × 420mm, A3 is the format for counter, window and wall menus, and for larger table menus where readability matters as much as what's on the list.
Our A3 menu printing gives you 12 paper stocks from 90gsm to 450gsm, single- or double-sided full-colour print, matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination, and spot UV or gold and silver foil finishes.
Configure, check your live price, add artwork and check out. Set your options above and the price updates as you go, shown ex VAT. Upload a print-ready PDF now, or send your artwork after checkout using the link we provide. Turnaround starts from 1 working day, with delivery across the UK.

Choose the Right Paper for Your A3 Menus
An A3 sheet is long enough to flex when it's held by one edge, so paper weight matters more here than on smaller menus. For menus handled regularly at the table, 250gsm or heavier generally gives a more substantial feel. Lighter stocks work well for temporary menus, event sheets, specials and high-volume handouts.
| Weight | Stocks available | Common uses |
| 90–130gsm | 90gsm uncoated, 115gsm silk, 120gsm uncoated, 130gsm gloss | Specials, event sheets, high-volume handouts |
| 150–170gsm | 150gsm silk, 170gsm silk, 170gsm uncoated | Seasonal menus, framed displays, short-term menus |
| 250gsm | 250gsm silk, 250gsm uncoated | Everyday restaurant, pub and takeaway menus |
| 350–450gsm | 350gsm silk, 350gsm uncoated, 450gsm silk | Restaurant, hotel and fine-dining table menus |
Silk or uncoated? Silk keeps food photography crisp and takes lamination cleanly, which is why most A3 restaurant menus are printed on it. Uncoated stock has a natural, tactile feel that suits cafés and independent brands, and it can be written on with a pen. Left unlaminated, it marks more easily, so it suits menus you replace often. The 130gsm gloss gives the most vivid colour among the lighter stocks for photo-led promotional sheets.
Laminated A3 Menu Printing
Lamination is the upgrade that most changes how long an A3 menu lasts. It seals the printed surface so drink splashes and fingerprints wipe off, which means fewer reprints between menu changes.
Matt Lamination
Matt cuts glare from spotlights and window light. It's the most practical finish for dining rooms and for A3 menus mounted on walls or displayed in windows.
Gloss Lamination
Gloss lifts colour saturation and makes food photography stand out, which suits takeaway and promotional menus. It also reflects light, so consider where the menu will hang.
Soft-Touch Lamination
Soft-touch gives a smooth, slightly muted finish with a more substantial feel in the hand, often chosen for hotel dining, cocktail bars and fine dining.
Match the lamination to the print: a double-sided table menu benefits from both faces laminated, while a wall-mounted or framed menu usually only needs the front. Laminating uncoated stock seals it, so the natural paper texture is lost.
Premium A3 Menu Finishes
Spot UV
Spot UV high build adds a raised, glossy coating to selected areas only, such as a logo, the venue name or a signature dish. The contrast shows most clearly against a matt or soft-touch background. It's available on one side or both.
Gold and Silver Foil
Gold or silver foil adds a metallic finish to one side, usually on a crest, venue name or heading. It's a common choice for hotel restaurants, fine dining and seasonal or event menus.
A3 Menu Printing for Restaurants, Takeaways, Pubs, Cafés and Hotels
The right specification depends less on the type of venue than on where the menu lives and how often it's handled. These are common starting points, all built from options in the configurator:
| Venue | Where A3 works well | A common starting point |
| Restaurants | Full table menus, entrance and window displays | 350gsm silk, double sided, matt lamination both sides |
| Takeaways | Counter menus, behind-counter boards, window menus | 250gsm silk, single sided, gloss lamination one side |
| Pubs and bars | Food and drinks together on one sheet | 350gsm silk, double sided, matt lamination both sides |
| Cafés | Counter and wall menus | 250gsm uncoated, or silk with soft-touch lamination |
| Hotels | Dining rooms, room service, reception | 450gsm silk, soft-touch lamination, gold foil detail |
| Events and catering | One-off event and buffet menus | 170gsm silk, unlaminated |
The right choice for your venue depends on handling, display location and the finish you want.
For A3 takeaway menu printing, the priority is prices that read clearly from the queue; gloss lamination keeps colour bright under counter lighting and wipes clean during busy service. A3 restaurant menu printing usually leans towards heavier stock and matt or soft-touch finishes for table use. Many venues pair an A3 menu with table talkers for specials, so the main menu doesn't need reprinting each time a dish changes.
A3 or A4 Menu Printing: Which Format Should You Choose?
A3 earns its place when the menu is displayed rather than passed around, or when food and drinks need to sit together on one sheet. On a small two-person table, a large sheet competes with plates and glasses.
If most of your menus are handed to seated diners, A4 menu printing is easier to handle and lower in cost per copy. Many venues run both: A3 for the window, wall or counter, and A4 at the table, on the same stock and finish so the two read as one set. For delivery bags and door-drops, A5 menus and DL formats are more practical than either.

A3 Menu Artwork Requirements
Most avoidable reprints trace back to artwork rather than printing. Before you upload, check:
- Size and bleed: 297 × 420mm with 3mm bleed on every edge (303 × 426mm overall).
- Safe area: keep prices and text at least 3mm inside the trim line.
- Colour: CMYK, not RGB, bright screen colours shift when converted for print.
- Images: 300dpi at final A3 size. A photo that looks sharp at A5 can turn soft at four times the area.
- Fonts: embedded or outlined in the PDF.
- File type: PDF is the only format accepted for upload.
The most common layout mistake is scaling up an A4 design unchanged. A menu read from a queue or across a room needs larger prices and fewer, clearer sections. Our guide to designing menus that sell more food covers layout and hierarchy in more depth.

What paper is best for A3 restaurant menus?
For A3 restaurant menus used at the table, 350gsm silk is a dependable choice: it holds its shape and takes lamination well. 250gsm suits everyday counter menus, and 450gsm silk gives the most substantial feel for fine dining and hotels.
Can I order laminated A3 menus?
Yes. Choose matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination on one side or both. Matt reduces glare for dining rooms and wall displays, gloss brightens food photography, and soft-touch has a smoother, more substantial feel. All three give a wipe-clean surface.
Can I order A3 menus in small quantities or in bulk?
Both. Quantities start at 25 copies for new openings, trial runs and short seasonal menus, and go up to 100,000 for hospitality groups and multi-site roll-outs. Bulk A3 menu printing is priced in the same configurator, so quantity breaks are easy to compare.
How quickly can you print A3 menus?
You can choose 1 working day, 3–4 working days or Express at checkout. For new openings or urgent price changes, choose the fastest option that fits your deadline and select it before adding to basket.
Can I upload my own A3 menu artwork?
Yes. Upload a print-ready PDF at 297 × 420mm with 3mm bleed, or choose Send It Later and use the link provided after checkout. If you don't have artwork yet, our menu design service can create an A3 layout for print.
Do you print double-sided A3 menus?
Yes. Select double sided in the configurator to print both faces in full colour, for example food on the front and drinks on the back. For menus handled at the table, pair it with double-sided lamination so both faces are protected.
Do you print folded A3 menus?
This product prints flat A3 sheets. If you'd like an A3 sheet folded into A4 panels or a multi-panel layout, our folded menus cover half-fold, C-fold and Z-fold formats.
Do you offer A3 menu printing in London and across the UK?
Yes. We're based in Croydon and supply A3 menus to restaurants, pubs, cafés and takeaways across London and the rest of the UK. Every order is placed online and delivered, wherever your venue is.

A menu that's too thin, too reflective for its spot or set in type too small to read from the queue costs more than the print run, it costs the reorder too. Getting the stock, finish and artwork right first time is the most economical way to print A3 menus.
